Great projects don't happen without great people

In the property industry, we usually celebrate buildings. We don’t often celebrate the people behind them.

The Urban Leader Awards exist to fix that. No project entries, no company logos on trophies. Just recognition for the individuals doing exceptional work across development, planning, design, construction, finance and beyond.

Whether you’re leading a company, backing bold projects or coming up through the ranks, there’s a category for you. And if there’s someone in your business who deserves recognition, put them forward.

The process

How winners are chosen

Every submission is assessed against six criteria, applied consistently across all eighteen categories. The award is made to the person, not the organisation. It stays with them across every role, every board seat and every appointment that follows.

Leadership

How they lead, and the standard they set for the people around them.

Growth

What they have built, scaled or delivered, and the scale of the result.

Innovation

Where they have done something the industry had not done before.

Responsibility

How they weigh community, environment and long-term outcomes.

Bravery

The calls they made when the safe option was on the table.

Distinction

What separates them from everyone else working in their field.

Why enter

The Urban Leader Awards assess individual contribution against a published set of criteria, applied consistently across all eighteen categories. What a nomination delivers:

A RIGOROUS ASSESSMENT PROCESS: Every submission is assessed against six weighted criteria: leadership, growth, innovation, responsibility, bravery and distinction. The same framework applies to every entry in every category.
RECOGNITION AWARDED TO THE INDIVIDUAL: The award is made to the person, not the organisation. It stays with you across every role, every board seat and every appointment that follows.
NATIONAL INDUSTRY VISIBILITY: Finalists and winners are announced to more than 80,000 property professionals through The Urban Developer, supported by editorial coverage throughout the program.
A BENCHMARK FOR YOUR TEAM: No leader reaches this point alone. A nomination recognises the standard set across an entire team and the people who helped build it.
