Speakers

Brad Armitage is the Executive Director for HIA, where he has headed up advocacy on key policy issues impacting housing affordability since 2017 in various roles within HIA NSW. He has represented HIA on multiple Australian Standard and building code committees, focusing on areas such as energy efficiency in housing, building product certification, and serving as a member of the Complying Development Expert Panel. Brad also worked closely with the NSW Building Commission during the implementation of the Design and Building Practitioners Act. Having completed an apprenticeship in Carpentry in 2009, Brad is a passionate advocate for Vocational Education and Training and the opportunities a career in the housing industry offers.
Abbie Galvin is the 24th Government Architect of NSW, a registered architect and a life fellow of the Australian institute of Architects. Abbie also received the Marion Mahoney-Griffin Prize for her distinctive body of work in the field of Architecture.
Tom is an experienced senior executive in the NSW Government, specialising in property, development, planning and transport. He is currently Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Policy in the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. He has previously served in numerous executive roles in the Department of Planning, including Executive Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Policy Implementation, Chief of Staff to the Secretary, Executive Director of the Office of the Secretary and the Director of the Planning Concierge. Tom has also served on the senior leadership teams of various Ministers and a former Premier of NSW.
