A new and independent hotel offering, Melbourne Place marks a bold addition to Melbourne’s CBD — a 16-storey, design-driven development that redefines boutique accommodation in Australia’s hotel sector.
Developed by Merricks Capital and delivered by ADCO Constructions, the premium hotel project brings together 189 rooms, a series of destination dining venues including Marmelo and Mid Air, three retail tenancies, event and wellness spaces, and a brand narrative that is authentically Melbourne.
With architecture and interiors by Kennedy Nolan — who also helped shape the hotel’s identity — Melbourne Place reflects the urban character of its site through a tactile, expressive design language.
Led by Kennedy Nolan’s Founding Partner Patrick Kennedy, this tour will explore the project’s:
- Architect vision for a design-led, independent hotel
- Approach to place-based brand and architecture
- Planning, engineering and environmental constraints
- Construction methodology and CBD delivery challenges
- Integration of retail, food and public realm
