Description

This award recognises a commercial innovation that provides an alternate solution to the way that business is conducted, such as new business models, deal structures, financial products and / or organisational, corporate or legal structures.

Eligibility

This award is open to all companies and organisations that operate within the property industry in Australia and New Zealand. 

The award is open to all projects, initiatives or products that have been carried out between 1 January 2025 and 31 March 2026.

Judging Context

The judges will be looking to recognise initiatives that represent the most innovative commercial thinking in the industry. 

The jury’s emphasis will be on initiatives that can improve efficiency and deliver outcomes through improved performance, productivity and risk management

Generic Questions

The Elevator Pitch (100 words)

In 100 words, describe the initiative and how it demonstrates industry excellence in this award category.

The Problem Statement (300 words)

In up to 300 words, describe the context in which the initiative was developed. 
Please include commentary about the problem or challenge that was being addressed and a statement about its level of complexity.

The Solution Statement (500 words)

In up to 500 words, outline the solution that was developed to address the problem, the process that was developed to execute and deliver the initiative, and the resultant impact of the initiative. 
Please outline the objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs) and value proposition; the budgets, resources, team, delivery program and key milestones; and the methodology for how success was measured.

Judging Criteria

Innovation – 20%

In 200 words, outline how the concept and execution of this initiative was innovative.

TIP: In this section, we are looking for specific examples of innovation in the creation of the initiative and throughout its implementation. The judges will benefit from the examples being described in detail.


Leadership – 20%

In 200 words, outline how the initiative demonstrated collaboration among key stakeholders.

TIP: In this section, we are looking for specific examples of how the initiatives demonstrates the virtues of modern and authentic corporate leadership. The judges will benefit from direct examples of bravery and action.


Economic impact – 20%

In 200 words, outline how the initiative demonstrated true, modern and authentic corporate leadership. 

TIP: In this section, we are looking for specific examples of how the initiative generated a positive economic impact on the community. This impact may include job creation, productivity gains, public or private investment and / or any other economic outcome.


Social impact – 20%

In 200 words, outline how the initiative achieved desirable community, social, sustainability and / or environmental outcomes.

TIP: In this section, we are looking for specific examples of how the initiative contributed to a positive social and / or environmental impact on the community. This impact could include improved social outcomes, environmental benefit, public investment and / or any other public benefit.


Scalability potential – 20%

In 200 words, outline how the project, initiative or product has the potential to scale.

TIP: In this section, the judges are wanted to understand the potential for the project, initiative or product to scale across industry and geographic lines. The emphasis will be placed on the scale of the problem being solved and the potential speed of distribution.
